This year, the Brooks became a Winter Wonderland, and each classroom showcased their creative side with a classroom snowman project.
We read, The Snowglobe Family by Jane O'Connor, and wrote about what we would do if we lived in a snow globe. We created a class book and decided to make our snowman a snow globe. After a month "Chock full" of listening to, comparing and contrasting, and writing our own versions of Gingerbread Stories we made our own. (Out of paper, of course.)
If you had were going to leave the only home you've ever known to go to a new land and could only bring 5 things...
What would you bring? Today, 38.2 pounds of your first grader's Halloween candy was shipped to the men and women serving our country.
They gave it willingly... happily. I am humbled. After reading, "Too Many Pumpkins" by Linda White we decided to see if pumpkin seeds would sprout if we simply covered them with dirt.
We finished up our Pumpkin Unit on Friday. We estimated the weight of our pumpkins and then guessed the number of seeds the pumpkins would have.
