We have been learning how partners help each other during reading workshop.  They sit... Elbow to elbow, Knee to knee (EEKK). They make a plan. Who goes first? Next? Choral Read? Take turns reading to each other? Share a familiar story? It is up to them.

Pete the Cat... It's all good in first grade

Pete the Cat has taken first grade by storm. His outlook on life is cool, calm, and collected. It's all GrOoVy~

We have read: Pete the Cat- I Love my White Shoes, Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons, and Pete the Cat- Rocking in my School Shoes, by Eric Litwin. Pete is a cool cat that doesn't sweat the small stuff, like stepping in a pile of strawberries, turning his white shoes red, losing ALL of his FOUR groovy buttons, or navigating his way through school. He just keeps going with the flow and singing his songs. Ask your child about Pete! Maybe they'll sing you one of his "sweet" tunes.  Visit Pete the Cat's Site at Harper Collins.
